Khadga Devi Temple

One of the Hindu temples close to Bandipur Bazaar is Khadga Devi Temple. It’s a little unusual that the temple without statues of any gods or goddesses, but it also has its own set of beliefs and morals. Rather, a sacred sword called a Khadga that is covered in layers of cloth is kept in the temple. It is believed that looking upon that sword (Khadga) causes one to vomit blood, which invites instant death. Because of this idea, the sword is covered in layers of cloth to hide its direct look. The Khadga is worshipped as a symbol of the female power, so the name of the temple as Khadga Devi Temple, which means goddess of the sword.
